Just over a month ago, then LIG Deputy Commander, Maj. Alan Gibbs asked the Directors of the LIGSAR Academy to put together a competition grade team to represent LIG at the 2010 New York Wing SARCOMP.

The team selected consisted of (L to R): C/Maj Ozyilmaz, C/2Lt. Kuhn, C/CMSgt Comolli, Capt. Keupp, Capt. Lebenns, C/MSgt Mealey, 2Lt. Pannhorst, C/Capt. Rollins, and C/CMSgt MacQuill. That team won first place in the Ground Team Competition, also...

Our Aircrew won First Place in the Aircrew Competition, and...

Long Island Group was awarded First Place in the overall competition.
Thanks to all who participated, this proves that SAR really is a team effort.

ALL First Aid Cards, from both the November and February class, are in. If you or any member who attended a LIGSAR First Aid class has not received a card, please contact the FASC via email, and he will get your card to you. Contrary to the feedback we've received, all First Aid cards from the November academy were placed in Squadron Commander mailboxes months ago.
If you attended the February LIGSAR and did not attend this SAREX, as per New York Wing Commander Col. Ozer, the sooner you attend a SAREX, the sooner you will be awarded your new rating, Maj. Gibbs, the new Long Island Group Commander supports Col. Ozer's request.
Dates for the next LIGSAR have been posted on the site as 21 Aug - 24 Aug 2010. Please begin applying.
