A. Prerequisite Workshop (Optional). Applications are due by end of this
session by 1600hrs.
a. When: Saturday 31 July 2010, from 0800-1600
b. Where: Long Island Group HQ (Directions)
c. Objective: To provide all the training required for a brand new
CAP member to attend theLIGSAR Academy as
well as participate in CAP Emergency Services.
d. Classes being offered: CAPF 101 Training (CAPT116), CAPT
117P1, ICS 100, ICS 700, ORM.
e. You may walk-in, or initiate applications this day.
f. A schedule is posted below so you may optto attend only the particular
prerequisite classes that you need.

B. First Aid/CPR Training (Mandatory for expired / non-certifiedmembers
only)
a. When: Sunday 1 August 2010, from 0800-1500
b. Where: Long Island Group HQ
c. Objective: Provide First Aid/CPR training / certification to all LIG
prospective / current GTMs.
d. Certifications being offered: American Heard Assoc. CPR and
Basic First Aid(required for GTMs)
e. Fee: $10 for non-LIGSAR Academy attendees. Cash or Check
(Payable to LIGSAR Academy).
C. LIGSAR Academy Gear Inspection (Mandatory for Members of LIG) &
ROA BasicClass (Mandatory if not completed)
a. When: Saturday 14 August 2010 from 0900hrs to 1200hrs (ROA
Basic Class)
Saturday 14 August 2010 from1230hrs to 1530hrs (Gear
Inspection)
b. Where: Long Island Group HQ
c. Notes: Bring your complete 72hr. gear ready for inspection.
d. All Basic Academy Students are required to read Chapter 2 of
the Ground Team Member & Leader Reference Text prior to
the start of the academy.
e. Students from outside Long Island Group are not required to
attend the Gear Inspection but are responsible for meeting the
gear requirements.
D. LIGSAR Academy Bivouac Portion (Mandatory)
a. When: Personnel other than LI Group may in-process Friday 20
August from1800-2300.
LI Group personnel must In-Process by 0700 Saturday 21
August 2010.
Trainees from outside LIG: We will be able to run shuttles to and
from local train stations should you need that option.
Please let us know of your travel plans ahead of time
should you need thisoption.
Graduation 1400hrs Wednesday 25 August 2010, parents and
friends encouraged to attend.
