LONG ISLAND GROUP SEARCH AND RESCUE ACADEMY

The Long Island Ground Search and Rescue Academy was established in November 2005 with the intended purpose of creating a training environment that would centralize and standardize Emergency Service training amongst the eight squadrons of Long Island Group. Our curriculum has been designed to not only supplement but to enhance the Emergency Services program set forth by National Headquarters. Furthermore, the LIGSAR Academy has successfully been able to create and sustain a higher standard of training while promoting Search and Rescue in the Civil Air Patrol. To date, the LIGSAR Academy has successfully graduated over 200 Cadets and Officers from within Long Island Group and beyond!
